More toward savings

February 12th, 2010 at 07:09 pm

My and NT's paychecks came early--I forgot Monday was a holiday; that's probably why. (I have to work that day but I do get a make-up vacation day later.)

My paycheck was a bit bigger than expected (I had attempted to calculate the drop in pay from today being a furlough day), so I put that $42 toward the travel fund, as well as the $25 regular biweekly savings transfer that happened yesterday. So the UK travel fund is up to $1093.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I just realized why my paycheck was more--I altered my federal withholding in anticipation of having another dependent this year, and because I got such a big refund for 2009. Cool, now I can go through my budget and increase my projected paychecks a bit!

at the end of each financial year our withholding tax is adjusted; the past three years it has lowered, which is always exciting. unfortunately with all the stimulus packages from last year, i think it won't decrease again this year. Frown
oh, and btw how long do you have to go in your pregnancy now? Smile

Ceejay, OMG - the baby is coming that soon?! How fast time flies. Enjoy the last few weeks of incubating (as I referred to it). Get as much rest as you can, and don't worry too much! I was a wreck with my first and everything that I totally worried about never happened. Is it too personal to ask if your considering natural childbirth? I was in the epidural camp, and it turned out fine. Best wishes!

Haha Petunia, you've got my number all right. Smile
momcents, I do freak myself out about a lot of things, but I just keep reminding myself that all my friends I could never imagine as parents are great at it. Plus there have to be some natural instincts left in humans to help me slip into motherhood!

As for the childbirth I'm just trying to keep an open mind. My doctor said the best thing is to move around during labor as long as I can handle it and then get the epidural if/when it gets too painful or isn't progressing fast. And of course I'm going to try not to be one of those women who beats herself up or is really disappointed if the need for a C-section arises. I'm dreading yet highly interested in the labor/delivery process, but the end result is the reason I started this in the first place, so it shouldn't really matter how baby gets here, as long as it gets here. Smile

You have a great attitude toward childbirth! Wink Did it without drugs once, don't recommend it! Smile That is wonderful you are getting a little more back, every little bit helps, why give it to the government when you can use it instead! (I have to work Monday too!)
