NT's a lawful permanent U.S. resident!!

We just got notification in the mail--he should receive his 10-year green card within two months.

I'm soo happy and relieved!!!

    Congratulations. So many things should be so much easier to do now. Changing jobs, negotiating salaries, changing residence...May I ask how long it has taken?

    Thanks everyone!! Joan--we got engaged early 2007, so in total, about 2.5 years, but there have been several different stages. This last stage, turning his conditional permanent residency into, uh, regular permanent residency, has been going on for 4 months. We sent off the initial application in March, got the request for evidence in June, and sent them our response July 10.

    I agree with creditcardfree--I can't believe they got back to us this fast! It was on my mind all the time, but I figured they wouldn't respond for months; that's how it's been in every other stage.
