Big payment hit!

January 30th, 2009 at 03:12 pm

I checked this morning and it had gone through. US$3000 straight to principal! That feels really good. I was feeling frustrated about not paying any extra money to debt, and the universe provided. Thanks universe!

Not quite as big a piece of news, but I worked on the Wii Fit again, so that's my 11th workout this month. Smile I'm not losing any weight, but I'm getting some exercise and definitely improving my balance and coordination, so I'm happy.

My daughter wants the Wii Fit. I am looking for one, but will wait until finances get better. Unless I sell alot on ebay and make enough. I am selling my Barbies now. Sold 6 last week for $74 total, but that money went to account to keep us afloat and have 9 listed this week, but may be able to save this money for it. I have 2 more boxes to go through and get listed, but promised husband that I would only do one box at a time.

Exercise is still good for you, even if you don't lose weight. Good work!

$33,228 left!!! Pay off all credit card and personal loan debt by 12/31/09.

You're doing a great job. To think last year that number was over $70k. I am amazed that you, NT, and AS have kept the focus for so long. (as well as all the other goals you accomplished this month.)

Where did the $3000 come from?

kd & CB: I love the Wii Fit but will have to incorporate some more-challenging workouts into my routine once I get more in shape.

merch: I know! Even if I don't have any more windfalls this year, I will at the very least get that baby under $25K by December now. If it takes me another year, it will still feel huge!

cptacek: A few days ago I realized I had 1500 pounds in the UK checking account that wasn't needed for anything, so I put it toward the UK credit card. When I started my spreadsheets back in '07, the pounds-to-dollars exchange rate was 1:2, and I've kept it that way to record my progress. So on my spreadsheet, paying 1500 pounds is like paying $3000!
