Huge CC payment and April goal met!

I managed to put $1800 to the principal balance of my credit card, and the payment hit the account today!

That makes $3855 of debt paid in April, far exceeding the $2190 goal. And that last CC balance is down to $5197.

I was able to do this because, even though I didn't get a schedule of paycheck amounts, I did get a calendar of what maternity leave days are paid and which are unpaid. I had calculated my budget as if all days off were unpaid, so that added quite a bit to the budget. I tried to be a bit conservative in my new estimates since they still are educated guesses. Maybe I'll end up having a little more in the budget each pay period!

    That's my hope! My budget still has a lot of unknown variables, but it looks doable so far.

    I was thinking about it last night: It would be the first time since age 23 or 24 that I was consumer-debt-free; I'm 36 now. Isn't that amazing?

    Wow, that number is getting small enough that you can definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel. Good luck with that! And tell us more about how Miss AA is doing, and how you all are finding parenthood!

    Aw, I'll be sure to do that, Kelly! I didn't think it would be that interesting after awhile, since all babies are probably a lot alike (even though I find her fascinating, of course).

    She smiles a few times a day now! It's so great when it happens. And there have been a few chirpy talking noises, though nothing sustained yet. She can stay alert when we go out now; the first few times she'd just crash as soon as we left home and sleep through everything, but now she's awake and looking around.
