Interesting sports story about money

I hardly ever read news about sports figures, but

Text is this one and Link is http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/page/hotread141125/dallas-cowboys-tyron-smith-gets-control-battling-family-money
this one caught my eye for some reason. I didn't even know it would be about money, but it's incredibly interesting -- and will resonate with some of us who deal with relatives asking for more money than we're comfortable with.

Thanks for sharing. It was very interesting. It's tragic how money can change relationships so drastically.

That's the kind of story that really sticks in your brain for awhile. In this case, he really comes across as a very grounded and sensible person - to have the ability to look at the millions of dollars if in front of him but realize that statistically his football career will be over in a blink, and statistically that money will need to last for decades.

I like his idea of his second career being a mentor to college athletes facing some of the same challenges in regards to their sudden wealth. I suspect he is one of the few that can talk to them on a level of "I've been where you are and this is what I learned."

Oh wow. Thank you for sharing. I loved reading that he has 5 rescue dogs! The affection those pups have for him has nothing to do with the balance in his bank account!
