A day of ups and downs already

August 5th, 2014 at 03:14 pm

And it's only 10 am!

The promising: There was a showing today, 9-10. Fingers crossed.

Worrisome: Our older kid (AA, 4) woke up complaining of a stomach ache and sore throat, and threw up right before we left for daycare. We took her anyway, and the daycare lady just messaged to say she hasn't thrown up again, so hopefully just a little bug or indigestion.

Awesome: AS just got a third proofreading job, this one for $1160! With that, she's replaced (what would have been) her 9/15 take-home pay, made enough to cover September healthcare, and started chipping away at the 9/30 take-home pay amount. Also, my co-worker just told me the client had no changes to the article AS wrote for us, so that's a good indicator she'll get more work from my job!

Also great: I checked Paypal and NT has accumulated $15 in Pinecone payments.

So overall more ups than downs, though I'm worried about my little girl. Let's see if this day continues to be a rollercoaster.

It is never fun to have an ill child. Hopefully she is already improving!

Aww--poor little one. Vomiting is way more traumatic than it should be, I think. And scary for them.

Did AA have a temperature or was this just an incident? Do you imagine children 'feel' stress when their parents have a lot going? Our kids always seemed to get tonsillitis, flu, whatever was gong around...whenever there was a special event planned. Every major school holiday, one or the other spent at least two days in bed ill and upset.

Thanks everyone. She did end up needing to come home early from daycare because she threw up her breakfast, but once she got home she seemed to feel much better and her appetite has returned. No fever ever materialized

I don't think it's our stress, though that did cross my mind. She's very good at vocalizing when she's worried or freaked out by something, not the kind of kid to hide her feelings or manifest them physically. Some days she's worried about moving to the new home, but today that wasn't on her mind.

I think it was either a mild flu, or maybe just some acid reflux; she hasn't been eating as much dinner as usual this week (too tired from playing at daycare) and the first time she threw up there was nothing there.
