So annoying

I don't know why, but my June 1 post keeps attracting spam comments, week after week. I keep deleting them, but it's a pain. I would delete the post, but it has my before-and-after pics, so I'd like to keep it.

I wrote to Jeffrey and Nate on the forums and they never responded.

Grr...

    I have gotten the idea that this forum is no longer their primary focus. I'm just thankful they keep it up. Can you imagine, where would we all go if this site came down???

    Agree, annoying. I wonder if somewhere someone should anonymously keep a list of emails or FB pages so we could connect if this would go away. I should feel very sad and alone if this cyber community crashed. You're sort of like my anonymous family ... oh, perish the thought!

    I agree Laura, I don't know what I'd do either. That's a good idea, keeping a list of emails or FB pages.

    I have one or two connections via my FB Ordinary Savers page, and probably a couple of your email addresses since I never clean my email out. But I agree, it would be so incredibly sad to lose this community -- and this is the only place I've really tracked my financial journey! I don't keep historical spreadsheets; they only reflect the present and future, not the past.

    Ceejay, try posting a new blog entry with the title Hey, Jeffrey! and I'm sure he'll see it. Sometimes the forums move so fast things don't get seen. But I'm not sure there is anything they can do about it unless it is the same person spamming from the same account and then they can ban that account. If it keeps coming from different accounts then it just has to be deleted manually each time.

    It's mostly different users posting each time, so I guess I just have to keep deleting them.

    Maybe make a copy of the post/pictures and then delete it? It probably is getting spam comments because of some keywords in the post or in the comment section.

    I've actually been surprised at how little this has happened this year. Last year it was all the time, every day from Thanksgiving to New Years. Same the year before. Apart from one or two spam blogs, this is the first I've heard about someone getting massive spam on a post. Sorry it has to be on a post you don't want to get rid of.
