Day 5 declutter/organize results!

April 6th, 2014 at 12:53 am

It was a busy day, so I didn't get much done on the declutter front. But I did gather up a bunch of home and daycare art projects that had been laying around. I had AA decide what to take off the walls of the kids' room (which were already pretty bare from stripping off all the Xmas/winter decorations recently), and decide what new art should go up on the walls and which I could recycle.

And the pile of art I recycled:

So, at least I got something done!

Looks great! We take pictures of all artwork before we recycle, that way we can look back at them later! Do you do that, too?

That is something that does take a little time with a child. You are a great mom letting her put her artwork on the wall! We have a box we keep art in. They don't add to it much anymore, but it is still there to look at occasionally. It was nice to have it contained in one place, but not all out, all the time!

    What fun! Very creative art.

When our guys were young it was popular to use two poster sized coloured foam core sheets, punch holes on ea. with a two hole punch and string through with elastic shoe lace [whatever sturdy tie available] Art work Sept. - June was collected in their 'portfolio.' Sometime in summer they picked their best 4 - 6 to keep, some went to gran, some was used through the year as gift wrap, some judiciously vanished. The portfolios are re-usable for years.

Very nice! And I gotta give you some of the credit for me FINALLY cleaning up the garage from winter. Sadly, just a first step of sweeping and picking up spilled nails and stuff, but it is still WAY better than it was. Now I can at least walk without stepping over junk. Smile
